An oasis for lovers of classic films from the silent era to the 1960s
Absolutely. We have so many great performances of hers to enjoy, a testament to her talent.
We're all thinking and writing about her today, just about the last of the last generation of real movie stars. Beautiful picture of her, CFB, and lovely tribute.
Thank you, Becky. She was one of the greats and a favorite of mine.
Hello, Brian...lovely picture as well as your words about Elizabeth Taylor. I have been in the process of a post on "Father of the Bride" and had been going through some (some? there are so many, many) stunning photos of her from the '50s...impossibly beautiful is the only way to describe her then...but more recently, a hairstylist I used to see told me that he and she had been at a Macy's event (he styling, she promoting her perfumes) sometime within the last 10 or so yrs. He said, "she was old" - but he added that she was still very beautiful - he couldn't take his eyes away from her - and he said no one else could either.
What a beautiful picture. She was a great lady and will truly be missed.
Brian,I'm looking forward to the TCM tribute on the 10th. Theres certainly a couple of her films being shown that day I would love to re-visit. I've got my DVR ready and a quiet night planned to spend a fun evening with Elizabeth. : )Page
